The second year of HCYP marks a meaningful step forward as the program continues to grow and deepen its impact. With many returning schools, this cohort builds on established relationships and shared learning, allowing students and educators to further develop their practice of philanthropy. This year also introduces expanded leadership through Youth Board Members and Fellows, creating more opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and youth-led direction. Together, the cohort reflects a stronger, more connected community grounded in waiwai and committed to shaping a thriving Hawaiʻi.

Founder Kūkulu ʻIke, Director of Community Outreach at 808 Cleanups
Kimeona Kane, born and raised in the foothills below Puʻu o Kona, Waimānalo, Koʻolaupoko, Oʻahu. Graduated from the Kamehameha Schools- Kapālama Campus, currently the Director of Community Outreach for 808 Cleanups, Chair of the Waimānalo Neighborhood and Pōhaku Practitioner of Waimānalo.
Every HCYP cohort leads initiatives that reflect the values, gifts, and needs of their communities. These projects often emerge from waiwai mapping, story gathering, and design processes that center youth voice and community collaboration.
Participating schools are central to bringing HCYP’s vision to life. Through their partnership, students and educators engage in place-based philanthropy, strengthen youth leadership, and help grow a shared practice of giving.
